Writing Prompt and Recommended Reading

Write anything using this prompt: A chapter of loathing.
It appeals to me, but the story has not yet formed in my head for it, but I am thinking on it.

I just ordered a book from Amazon.com called Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollock. He lives in the same town my parents are from. I thought his short stories sound interesting and I thought I would support a fellow Ohio writer.

While at the Write-On Writers Conference in Coshocton, I bought several books by local authors.
  • Larger than life Laura by Dandi Daley Mackall
  • Swamp Panther by Patricia Toles
  • The Ultimate Guide to Darcy Carter by Teresa Slack

I am currently reading Irish Tiger by Andrew M. Greeley. This is a Nuala Anne McGrail mystery. I love all the Irish books. In fact, I love most of Father Greeley's stories. For a priest he is really insightful.

It is taking me longer than normal to read the stories, because I have been keeping busy. I am no longer laying around in bed. It definitely is healthier to get up and going.

I am doing it because I feel better and because I want to keep on feeling better. Exercise is important for sufferers of fibromyalgia and arthritis. It is, also, good to keep the depression at bay, another lovely symptom of FMS (fibromyalgia syndrome). Sometimes it is difficult to get going, but I keep telling myself that I want to become a published author, so I do it. The nice thing about working at home is that I can take a nap if I need it during the day and sometimes I do need a nap.

So to all you procrastinators out their, I am one, write something, anything just WRITE!
