I want to state for the record that forty is not old. Neither is 43 or 44. My nephew was calling his mother really, really old. Of course, Jon is only a teen. I am sure that I thought my mother was old when I was a teen, though she is only nineteen years older than me. Funny, that age difference is not so insurmountable now that I am fortyfour.
While forty may have once been old age, we haven't even reached middle age now. What with people living to one hundred plus now-a-days. So, both my sister and I have more time to enjoy our middle age at least once we reach it.
So, Jon we aren't really, really old. We have only just begun to live!
