It is very difficult to write horror. I have found very few stories that actually convey that feeling of distress one gets from truly frightening situations. I have found some exciting and even disturbing, but I want a story that makes it difficult to sleep without the light on. That is even if you manage to fall asleep.
I want horror that makes me pray over and over for deliverance. I want to be shaking in my boots scared. I want to be afraid of reading further and afraid not to finish the book. I want all this when I read horror.
How does one begin to translate that terrifying dream, situation, idea to paper? How do you make your readers feel the terror?
I am working on that idea right now. I want to scare the pants of you as a reader.
