FOREVER WAVING

Calm in the Storm

The world is exploding.

Airplanes are crashing.

Viruses are threatening.

And then there is you,

Reaching for me,

Holding me,

My calm in the storm.

My pulse is racing.

My heart is breaking.

Panic is rising.

People are dying.

And then there is you,

Reaching for me,

Holding me,

Loving me,

My calm in the storm.

My head is hurting.

The noise is deafening.

The room is spinning.

I am screaming.

And then there is you,

Reaching for me,

Holding me,

Loving me,

My calm in the storm.

To the men & women of the armed forces,

Thank you for offering your lives to protect our way of life. I hope that no more of you have to die for us. My heart goes out to your family and friends, who must endure your absence while you fight in a war that many back home do not support.

My condolences to those who have lost loved ones in any of the wars that have been fought to defend our freedom. Thank you to all who have given your lives for us.

Sincerely, Rita L. Smith

Wow! I love the simplicity of such horror and hope. Very wonderfully written.
