From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris
This is a quick, fun read. Ms. Harris combines a quirky character with an action driven plot. Somehow, Ms Harris is able to combine both comedy and drama, while keeping the subject matter serious.
Sookie Stackhouse is a waitress in a small Louisiana town who has been drawn into wars between werewolf factions and vampire factions. She is struggling with her own sense of right and wrong, while keeping an open mind about others. Sookie prefers hanging with the supernatural community since she can't read their minds as she can 'normal' people.
This reader just wishes the story would go on and on.
